Child - the champion from the cradle: doctor's advice
Those parents who did not give up their crumbs in a drawing circle or a theater studio, usually pro chat them a sports career. As soon as the baby starts walking, we already see how he will become a champion. "Have you taken to your section since two years?" - Mom questions the coach. And when she is offered to wait until five or six years old, she is indignant:
we can not start a sporting career so late! And maybe, before going to the sports section, is it worth to look to the doctor?
When selecting children for the section, unfortunately, the trainer sometimes does not look at the type of the child's physique, does not check the degree of flexibility, the level of coordination, the strength of the muscles, the speed of reaction. But it is from this that the trainer and the small sportsman should get acquainted. If you are offered to pay for classes, without even looking at the child, - be wary! Think about how serious the approach to employment in this club, and whether training will turn into trouble. Especially if you are aiming for professional sports. What do you need to remember for parents who want to make out of their crumbs athlete? For the consultation, let's turn to Dr. Eduard Grynin.
- Many parents are sure that the sooner you start to play sports, the easier it will be to achieve high results. As a result, the coach is persuaded to take the kid to tennis in 3 years, to gymnastics - to 2.5. Are not dangerous for such a small load and frequent workouts?
- There are recommendations from the Department of Latvian Sports Medicine, which give clear information on the age and section of the child that can be given. So everyone can ask all these questions. In any case, in three years the child should not be given in some serious sport. Rather, if you give a three-year-old to a judo section, then they will study with him not the bases of the fight but will give general physical training. And physical training will not prevent children of any age, moreover - it is necessary for everyone.
- At what age is the backbone of the child the most vulnerable, that is, when it is NOT recommended to start playing sports?
- Sport can affect the health of a person of any age. That is why it is so important to give the child to the section that is assigned to him by age. Physical education, as I said, will suit everyone. And one more very important point. Regardless of the sport, the child must be examined by a SPORT doctor. Without examination at this specialist, sport can inflict harm on the baby.
- Massage, so that the baby is more easily given physical exercise. Is there any benefit to this?
- You need to prepare the baby for the load gradually. In other words - once or twice increase the load and correctly dose it. A message - this is only an auxiliary tool, nothing more. If the child is overtrained and the next training his muscles do not have time to relax, he will not show good results and can even overstrain the muscles. Therefore, no matter how much we massaged the muscles, if the child is given the wrong load, the muscles will still react to it by overexertion. Overexertion of muscles can be accompanied by an increase in temperature, a change in the analysis of blood, urine, etc.
We follow the load
What are the requirements for children and their physical training in big sports? For example, if you are aiming at figure skating, then know that the smaller the child, the easier it is to carry out movements. If the child is bad with coordination, then such sports as jumps in height or length, shot put will not suit him. But there are sports that are initially focused on maintaining health. For example, already in 3-4 years, the child can be put on skis, lead to the pool. But to make a five-year professional athlete is a huge responsibility.
The sports doctor of the hockey school Oleg Krivosheev has a rule from his own experience. His frequent patients are hockey players 8-9 years old, who have a couple of years of training behind them. How was their working schedule built during these years? Trained 6 times a week for two, or even three hours. But the Seven-Year Plan is still a baby, and not every kid can withstand such loads. And the first thing the child finds is fatigue, and from here begin to malfunction in the body.
- If you notice that on the way from school to training or during the day the child bites his nose, this is the first sign of increased fatigue, says Oleg Krivosheev. - It is worth analyzing, do not overdo it with the load. Because after such a state there is a weakening of the strength of muscles, a tonus, posture can be disturbed. But after 10 years the child, as a rule, is ready for more serious workloads.
It must be remembered that power sports are activities that involve high loads. That's why they are not suitable for children of this age. Even a well-developed senior preschool child is not ready for them, and children from 10-12 years old are admitted to such sections.
When sports are banned
Do not forget that for some diseases, a big sport for a child is under a large ban. For example, in diabetes mellitus, only exercise therapy is allowed, no serious physical exertion. The same applies to children with congenital disorders of cardiac activity.
- For children with very poor eyesight (if nearsightedness is minus five), the road to professional sports is also closed, because strong physical stresses are contraindicated for the baby, - our consultant warned. - Children with poor eyesight are not recommended for hockey, football, basketball, volleyball, as well as percussion, contact martial arts. The doctor can solve something, but something categorically forbids, depending on the degree of myopia. A child with such diseases as chronic tonsillitis, sinusitis, sinusitis, respiratory diseases is contraindicated in "cold" sports - skis, skates, and swimming. But those guys who have problems with the spine, there is lethargic muscle, swimming, on the contrary, will do. Strengthen the weak muscle corset will also help sports acrobatics, gymnastics, and aerobics. In these same sports, I would recommend giving children who suffer from dysplasia. Swimming will benefit children with diseases of the musculoskeletal system (subluxation, "flattened" foot). But they can not be engaged in athletic sports. Children with varying degrees of curvature of the spine, I would not advise going to those sports where, with improper training, asymmetric development of muscles can occur: it is tennis, badminton. In addition, such children are contraindicated in cycling.
But even if there are no congenital ailments, the doctor's advice before deciding to enroll in the sports section will not hurt. It is important at a young age to monitor the condition of the muscular system of the child. If the muscles are weak and not ready for strong physical exertion, this can lead to scoliosis. For example, too small tennis players, who were given in big sports in 4-5 years, the risk to seven years to come to the doctor with such a misfortune as right-sided scoliosis (when one breast is forwarded a couple of centimeters more than the other). The reason is that the tennis player's attack is accompanied by the twisting of the spine in the upper section, it should be very strong and powerful. And if the muscles and ligaments of the child are weak and unprepared for such efforts, a sad result is possible.
At too small and not ready for sports players there are traumas of a hip and knee joints, at basketball players the first give a sign on an ulnar and humeral joint. In general, an athlete's injury is a defensive reaction of the body to overwork. Therefore, do not neglect the recommendations of doctors. And if it is known that boxing is recommended for children from 11-12 years old, then it is not necessary to give the child to the section in seven years. Before that, it's better to do general physical training - more to move, run, swim.
2-3 years: swimming
Physical load in water is easily tolerated, and at this age, the organism should not be overloaded.
4 years: sports dances, wushu
This sport will make the child more flexible and will be an excellent start for other sports. Children will learn to keep their posture, become more enduring. A wushu is good because it includes the elements of respiratory gymnastics. It strengthens the body, develops strength and muscles.
4-5 years: skiing, figure skating
Skiing is good for health because it trains the muscles of the legs, the press, the back, and develops dexterity. And at an early age, children do not know the feelings of fear, because it is easier to learn tricks and get used to faster on the slopes.
Figure skating at first can be replaced by gymnastics so that the child has learned to coordinate his movements. And after practicing gymnastics, in five-five and a half years you can already enroll in a figure skating school.
5 years: karate
Develops flexibility, coordination, dexterity. In training, kids are taught to concentrate, direct their energy in the right direction.
6-7 years: hockey
If the child is thin and weak, then with this sport it is better to wait another year, as the children's outfit for this sport weighs a lot, and it will not be easy to run in it ...
But if the child has already gone to hockey, he is provided with strength and endurance.
7 years old: badminton
If you dream of a tennis player's career, well, wait another year or two, let the child get stronger back. In the meantime, you can do badminton. He perfectly develops a speed of reaction and high-speed qualities. By the way, in spite of the fact that badminton racquets are very light, for children under 7 years old this sport is not recommended because of the risk of frequent stretching of the joints on the hands.
